National Investment Programmes

On behalf of its community sports delivery partners, Active Sussex successfully applied for and now manages the national 2012 Legacy Mass Participation investment streams shown below. Active Sussex is required to meet the terms and conditions for utilisation of all government grants.
In terms of the planning and expenditure decisions for these programmes, this is achieved in conjunction with county or district sports delivery organisations in membership of the Trust, and does include where appropriate other partners who make up the Active Sussex Network (e.g. county governing bodies, local clubs, local authorities, education and health partners):
- School Games – our role is to coordinate the County level School Games Festival and to facilitate school to NGB club links for participants
- Sportivate – our role is to facilitate an increase in sports participation amongst those aged 14-25 years of age, and through Active Sussex delivery partners to deploy and monitor project funds for the delivery of sporting activities in the community.
- Sport Makers – our role is to identify and train the next generation of community sports volunteers aged 16 years and over through the inspiration of London 2012. Active Sussex will host a series of workshops for new volunteers and identify appropriate sporting opportunities for them to volunteer in the community.
