Active Sussex team

Sadie was appointed in August 2005, and is the Chief Executive Officer with overall responsibility for the Trust’s business and financial operations. Sadie leads a team of 7 full-time, and 4 part-time professional officers and has a dual role as Company Secretary to the Trust. The role includes working with senior sports development professionals in East Sussex, West Sussex and Brighton & Hove to strategically support and influence the development of local sports policy and partners’ delivery plans. The position also involves strategic liaison with national, regional, county and local organisations (Sport England, Skills Active, and local government amongst others) to ensure national policy information is disseminated and translated locally, and to ensure local priorities are represented at regional and national level.

Sadie also works with other senior officers in the Trust to support funding applications for sports facilities and new programme development. Sadie is also a former international basketball player, and currently volunteers as club and county basketball coach.
