Active Sussex team

Sally joined Active Sussex in early 2008 after 19 years experience in local government sports and partnership management at Mid Sussex and Lewes District Councils.

Her key duties are to:

• act as Deputy to the Chief Executive which includes providing operational support for senior strategic and HR duties
• act as the client manager for NGB relations which includes establishing delivery plans with governing bodies and chairing the Sussex NGB Forum
• be the lead safeguarding in sport officer ensuring that Active Sussex adopts the appropriate policies and procedures for its core team and that partners are encouraged to do the same
• develop the workforce (both volunteers and paid professionals) which includes organising the Active Sussex Network quarterly forums and having overall responsibility for the Sussex Sports Awards.

Her team consists of the Sports Development Manager and Coaching Development Manager.

Sally has always been very passionate about physical activity and has played many sports at club or county level. Currently she enjoys cycling or walks in the countryside with her dog.
