Funding for sport

Do you need financial support to improve your facilities, training or delivery? Whether you’re a club, individual athlete, local authority, community organisation or sports body, Active Sussex can help you access up-to-date funding.

Sportivate

Active Sussex is not a grant making body and does not have any funds of its own to distribute. We do, however, manage local distribution of some nationwide Lottery funds for our principal funder, Sport England.

The most significant funding pot of this kind currently available is for the Sportivate  programme. Sportivate is a four-year nationwide campaign to help 14-25 year olds get into the sport of their choice by providing a range of 6-8 week coaching sessions. Active Sussex welcomes applications from organisations looking to deliver these projects. For more information visit our Sportivate page.

Other funding

Active Sussex will, wherever possible, signpost our national governing bodies, coaches, sports club and individual athletes to funding opportunities available from other organisations. For the latest updates, check the relevant page from the left hand menu.

Support for your bid

Active Sussex can support bids to any of the funding streams administered by Sport England. We ask you to provide us with an overview of your project and its aims before final submission. We will then provide a statement of support and in return, we ask that you let us know whether you have been successful in your application and how the project is progressing.
