The new hockey format, recently introduced by England Hockey, is a fast and furious version of the game played without goalkeepers, with four or five players per side.

The Big Splash Mile for Sport Relief aims to be the largest fundraising swim in the world. Sign up and raise money for Sport Relief.

Big Splash takes place as part of Swimathon Weekend, 27-27 April. A mile is about 64 lengths of a standard 25-metre pool, which must be swum in one go – toilet breaks allowed!

On the extra day this year, why not consider something new? Active Sussex has picked Wednesday 29 February to launch its Sussex Legacy project, promoting a range of exciting sporting opportunities for Sussex.

Commissioned by Sport England to deliver a number of programmes in Olympic year, the Sussex Legacy initiative – which consists of Sportivate, Sport Makers, Sussex Sports Awards, School Games, Sussex Coaching Bursary and Active & Healthy Workplaces – aims to capture the thrill of the London 2012 Games and increase the numbers of people taking part, coaching and running sport in Sussex.

The aim is to leave a positive and lasting legacy for sport in Sussex.
