🎥 Spirit of Curling: Satellite Club
Our Spirit of Curling video is now available for you to watch, replay and share!
In 2013 Beacon Community College set up a Curling Satellite Club with Fenton's Rink.
Satellite Clubs are a Sport England, Lottery funded programme. It is designed to work with targetted groups and underrepresented young people across the country.
Active Sussex works with Satellite Clubs, like the Curling project, to make them sustainable.
The club has grown from strength to strength, increasing from 8 curlers to 40 in the first year and due to the success of the programme. A clear progression pathway has been established and several participants are now representing England at an international level.
We take a closer look at some of the participants stories from the programme.
Watch and be inspired by this film.
