Active Sussex’s aim is to increase participation in sport and physical activity at a local level.
One of the 43 Active Partnerships across England, Active Sussex’s main aim is to address inequality and empower everyone to be active in a way that works for them. Our goal is that everyone across Sussex can access the health and wellbeing benefits of being active.
We work with a variety of sectors, groups and partners who want similar outcomes. Such as the charitable, community and voluntary sector, including our activity providers; our health and care partnerships and networks; those who support children and young people both within and outside educational settings; our local authorities, including public health and wellbeing teams; parks and open spaces; leisure trusts and the gatekeepers to outdoor spaces.
Predominantly funded by Sport England, we contribute to the government’s agenda to increase the number of people participating in sport and physical activity nationally.
