Sadie has overall responsibility for the leadership, strategy, executive governance and financial management of Active Sussex. As senior accountable officer, she works with our Board of Trustees to safeguard organisational statutory compliance, which includes risk management and robust policy development. Sadie is our executive advocate with external organisations such as Sport England. She also works to develop links with senior leaders across the county, with a specific focus on East Sussex, and aims to facilitate the inclusion of sport and physical activity in high level community plans and policies.
Anthony has responsibility to connect and network with key strategic stakeholders to tackle physical inactivity, with a specific focus on West Sussex. Acting as the operational deputy to the Chief Executive, he is the strategic lead for insight, business performance and improvement, the Active Sussex Network & Conference and the Sussex Sports Awards.
Gemma is responsible for managing key strategic stakeholder relations to tackle physical inactivity across Sussex, with a focus on increasing levels of physical activity for people with a disability, those from lower socio-economic groups, and women and girls. She oversees the Sussex Disability Sports Network, is the Lead Adult Safeguarding Officer, Deputy CYP Safeguarding Officer, Equalities lead and acts as the Active Partnership’s Human Resources lead.
Ross is responsible for working with partners to tackle inequalities locally in order to address inactivity. He has a focus on increasing the levels of physical activity for older people and people living with long-term health conditions. Ross is also the Active Sussex Strategic lead for Brighton & Hove.
Andy is the Strategic lead for all Children & Young People focussed work. He works with schools, clubs, coaches, and physical activity providers to increase opportunities for young people to get more active. To read more about Andy click here.
Ed supports Sport England’s targeted investment into facilities in the region, linking national strategy to local priorities and delivery. Ed also delivers the Sussex School Games programme, and events including the Sussex Sports Awards, Parallel Youth Games, and the Active Sussex Conference and Network.

Nick is the Strategic Workforce Officer for Active Sussex, leading on workforce development for Active Sussex and the implementation of the Workforce Delivery Plan. Nick leads on projects such as the Workforce Investment Fund, Coach Core and Project 500, and is also the CYP Safeguarding Lead Officer for Active Sussex.
David works with Sussex primary schools receiving the PE and Sport Premium. He supports and promotes initiatives, programmes and local offers that develop PE, sport and physical activity provision within primary education.
Mac is responsible for analysing activity data to provide Active Sussex and partners with the insight needed to help people become more active.
Mac will work closely with the Marketing and Communications officer to ensure effective communication of strategic messages around physical inactivity through case studies and reports, as well as sharing impact and learning with external stakeholders.
He is also responsible for Active Sussex’s GDPR compliance policies.

Marci provides secretarial support to the Charity as directed by the Chief Executive, the Board of Trustees in fulfillment with our corporate governance role. She also provides effective office administration and customer services, plus administrative support for national programmes managed by Active Sussex.
Vanessa is responsible for establishing and maintaining smooth financial and administrative processes for the organisation. She also manages and monitors income and expenditure and supports the CEO and Board in meeting statutory compliance processes.
