Paul Millman – Interim Chair of Trustees

Paul retired as Chief Executive of Kent County Cricket Club in 2009. Since then he has undertaken a number of sport related roles including Chairman of the England and Wales Cricket Forum for Disability Cricket in South East England & Chairman of Sussex Squash.

Viv Woodcock-Downey – Interim Vice-chair

Viv Woodcock-Downey – Interim Vice-chair

Viv previously worked in Human Resources and Environmental Services, as well as running her own successful business for 15 years working across the public sector. Now retired, she has thrown herself into a range of voluntary positions, and is currently Chair of BLAGSS (Brighton’s LGBT Sports Society) and on the board of the Federation of Gay Games. In 2016 she won the BBC South East Unsung Hero Award 2016, for her work advocating LGBT Sport and physical activity issues in Sussex.

Anthony Davy

Anthony Davy

Anthony is a Chartered Accountant and former Management Consultancy partner for an international practice. In 2009 he studied International Relations at University of Sussex. Since graduating, he has volunteered with a number of charities, alongside running a small leisure business.

Brian Clark

Brian Clark

Brian's previous roles included Chief Officer of Sussex Probation and Board Chair of Brighton and East Sussex Mind. He is very keen on sport particularly running, football, badminton and fishing and is a member of Brighton and Hove Athletic club.

Carrie Reynolds

Carrie Reynolds

Carrie is the South Active Communities and Health Lead at Freedom Leisure. She is also an active member of the Sussex Disability Sports Network. She has experience of working with Public Health and also has a real passion for the Parallel Youth Games and disability sport.

Dr Chris Whitaker

Dr Chris Whitaker

Chris currently works for the Activity Alliance (formerly the English Federation of Disability Sport) as an Engagement Advisor for the East and South East regions. He is also a trustee for Stay Up Late, a Sussex based charity who advocate for people with learning disabilities to live the lives they wish to. He brings over ten years’ experience in various disability roles, including as an agent to Paralympic athletes and customer involvement.

Jane Schofield

Jane Schofield

Jane has worked in HR for the past 15 years primarily in the education and charity sector. She is currently Head of HR at Roedean School, (Roedean Group of Schools) and was previously HR Manager at Varndean College. She also provides HR consultancy services for a range of businesses and voluntary sector organisations.

Karen Burrell

Karen Burrell is Sales and Marketing Director at Freedom Leisure, the largest leisure trust in Sussex. Her role includes membership sales, customer service & retention, brand development, marketing promotion, PR, sport & activity development, digital marketing & website.

Melanie Kinnear

Melanie Kinnear

Melanie used to work as a Senior Manager for Albion in the Community – the charitable arm of Brighton & Hove Albion. In this role she established the multi-national award winning employee volunteer programme with American Express & supported wider activity. She is now contracted to support the Premier League's Primary Stars community programme.

Stephanie has worked in insight and customer satisfaction for over 15 years - spending five years at Sport England, where she was Strategic Lead for Clubs & Workforce and previously Head of Retention (working with National Governing Bodies to tailor their offer and understand the needs of participants). She is now Chief Executive at Concordia.

Tom Howell

Tom Howell

Tom has worked within the health, wellbeing and leisure industry over the last 10 years. He is currently the Activity Coordinator for Arun Wellbeing, a Public Health project designed to combat preventable diseases by improving lifestyles through exercise. His various roles have given him extensive experience working with community, commercial, local government and voluntary organisations.
