The 2018 Business Women Excellence Awards - Sussex Edition winners have been announced.

Congratulations to Sadie Mason MBE, Active Sussex Chief Executive, who scooped a top honour on the night - The Wellness Award and finished runner-up in the The Inspire Award category.

Sadie, who has positively contributed to sports development for over 20 years, was presented with the prestigious accolades at the glitzy black-tie Gala, at The Hilton Brighton Metropole Hotel on Friday 30 November 2018, after spearheading Team Active Sussex's work in the community over the past 12 months.

The ex-international basketball player won The Wellness Award for making a positive impact on the lives of Active Sussex clients, promoting good practice to gain new clients and at the same time maintaining excellent levels of service for current ones.

And finished runner-up in the The Inspire Award for inspiring and encouraging others (particularly women) and demonstrating determination and commitment through her work with Active Sussex.

"I'm delighted to win this award on behalf of Active Sussex. It's a great honour and privilege to be recognised alongside amazing Sussex businesses," Sadie said.

"The whole Active Sussex team works incredibly hard to ensure sport and physical activity focuses on the people and places most in need of the support we can offer and to have this celebrated is fantastic.

"I’d also like to congratulate all the winners and those nominated for the Business Women Excellence Awards - to be part of this amazing group of women is very special."

The BWE awards, in its third year, stretch across the whole of the county and are staged to celebrate the success of today’s very best females in business.
