Coach Core Sussex's first face-to-face meeting
Coach Core Sussex employers and apprentices came together at Falmer Sports Centre for the first time as a complete cohort on Thursday, July 13.
The employers had the first face-to-face partner meeting of the new cohort and the apprentices were attending their monthly face-to-face practical education session.
At the partner meeting, employers provided feedback on the first three months of the new cohort and shared their successes, challenges and key learnings.
It was also an opportunity to discuss future plans and opportunities for the cohort.
Meanwhile apprentices had a high quality education session with Lifetime and planned fun activities to deliver to their employers.
After the partner meeting, everyone came into the sports hall and the apprentices delivered activities, such as basketball, team building activity ‘the floor is lava’, and variations of stuck in the mud, including dancing stuck in the mud.
Both employers and apprentices valued the opportunity to come together face-to-face, and everyone had fun and worked up a sweat.
The education programme takes a short break over the summer and will restart in September.
The Coach Core Sussex apprentices have had a busy start to their apprenticeships and have supported several events already, including the Parallel Youth Games, the Sussex School Games and Sussex Cricket Foundation’s Schools Day at the County Ground.
These experiences are vital in supporting the the development of the skills and behaviours they will need to be successful within our sector.
