Sport Welfare: Creating an Inclusive Disability Sports Club

Creating an Inclusive Disability Sports Club: Safe, Welcoming and Accessible for Everyone is for Club Welfare Officers, coaches, club chairs and committee members, volunteers, and disability sport providers. The session will explore how clubs can create environments where disabled people feel welcomed, valued, listened to and safe to participate.

We will look at what makes a club genuinely inclusive, understand the important connection between inclusion and adult safeguarding, identify common barriers faced by disabled people, and discover simple, effective ways to improve accessibility, communication and club culture.

Drawing on examples from successful disability and para sport programmes, as well as training from organisations such as Activity Alliance and Access Sport, the webinar will provide practical ideas and resources to help clubs strengthen inclusion and create positive sporting experiences for everyone.
