Active Sussex supports a range of partners to promote and provide physical activity opportunities to encourage people to move more often and live healthier, more active lifestyles.

Local Support Programmes
Active Hastings Spring Programme 2016 – Overview of the physical activities in Hastings and St Leonards throughout Spring 2016.
Age UK: Healthy Living Clubs – Helping people in East Sussex aged 50+ lead healthier lifestyles.
Albion in the Community: Brighter Outlook – FREE, personalised physical activity programme for people living with and beyond cancer in Brighton & Hove – supported by Macmillan Cancer Support.
Crawley FC: Extra Time Walking Football – Walking Football session every Friday 13:30-15:30 for adults aged 50+. A range of other leisure & social activities are also available.
East Sussex Walking – Find a walk in the beautiful East Sussex Countryside – walks for all kinds of walking abilities and levels.
Lewes FC: Football Therapy – FREE football sessions for men & women, promoting mental wellbeing.
Rebalance East Sussex – 12-week group weight-loss programme designed for adults, children & families at local leisure and community centres.
West Sussex Wellbeing Hub – Wellbeing service offering advice & support for getting more active, eating healthier & stopping smoking.
National Support Programmes
Active 10 – A new drive led by Public Health England, encouraging adults to get more active. It aims to get people walking briskly every day in bursts of ten minutes or more.
Walking for Health – England’s largest network of health walk schemes, run by the Ramblers and Macmillan Cancer Support – search for a walk near you or see a list of walks in the Walking for Health document under useful resources.
Local Support Packages for Workplaces
Brighton & Hove CC Workplace Health Checks – Brighton and Hove City Council can work with you to promote a healthier workforce and support you with a range of services including wellbeing checks for staff. These checks are carried out by Health Trainers who will check blood pressure and body mass index. Staff have the opportunity to discuss their results, explore how well they are feeling and plan any healthy lifestyle change.
Cycle September – a fun, free competition to see which workplace can get the most staff riding.
West Sussex Wellbeing – Healthy Workplace – Free help and advice on how to create a healthy workplace.
Sustrans Smarter Small Business Travel – Helping small businesses based in East Sussex reduce the cost and environmental impact of business travel.
National Support Packages for Workplaces
Get Britain Standing – Organisers of the national day ‘On Your Feet Britain’, Get Britain Standing encourages workers to unite together and participate in a variety of fun and simple activities to #SitLess and #MoveMore at work.
Health at Work – Health at Work is the British Heart Foundations programme to inspire and support health and wellbeing in your workplace.
The Workplace Wellbeing Charter – The Workplace Wellbeing Charter is an opportunity for employers to demonstrate their commitment to the health and well-being of their workforce.
Workplace Challenge – The Workplace Challenge is a great way to make an active change to the daily routine of your business. Rally the troops and get your workplace moving, enjoy some friendly rivalry competing against local workplaces, and more importantly logging activity will help make employees resolutions a reality.
