- Wealden District Council Sports Infrastructure Fund 2024-2027 – Grants available between £5,000 and £50,000 to improve outdoor sports pitches and facilities throughout the district. The funding programme will expire on March 31, 2027 or earlier, if all of the funding has been fully allocated.
- BLAGSS (Brighton LGBTQ+ Sports Society) – Each year BLAGSS have set aside money from their budget to support Sports Groups. Sports Groups are invited to apply for financial support to aid the development of their sport and make them more sustainable. Deadline: Ongoing.
- Samworth Brothers Community Opportunity Fund – supports deserving community and sports projects close to Samworth Brothers’ locations, including Worthing and Adur (and potentially Brighton & Hove). Deadline: Ongoing.
- Sussex Community Foundation – Supports grassroots and community organisations across Sussex to deliver vital work in their local communities. Deadline: Applications are now closed for the Spring round
Regional
- Postcode Lottery Fund for the South East – The funding from Sported comes from money raised by the Postcode Lottery and is for community organisations delivering sport and physical activity for wider social purpose. Grants will support a wide range of projects and activities that address local need, promote social inclusion, and strengthen communities in underserved areas. Deadline: Applications are now closed.
National
Sport and physical activity specific:
- Greener Game – Grassroots football clubs can sign up to Greener Game, with access to £1.5 million in annual investment, with selected clubs receiving fully funded energy upgrades, from small fixes to major improvements such as solar panels. Deadline: Ongoing but Energy Audit free until 31 July 2026.
- Dan Maskell Tennis Trust – Individual and group grants. Deadline: Monday 3 August and Monday 26 October
- Wooden spoon – Capital and revenue projects that make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people, with funding going towards things such as sensory rooms and gardens, specialist medical and sports equipment, playgrounds, sports programmes, health and wellbeing initiatives and education projects. Deadline: Ongoing.
- Barclays Community Sport Fund – Under the Female Coaches for Girls Grant, you can apply for £200 to cover the cost of a Level 1 or equivalent introductory qualification and any additional safeguarding and first aid requirements for your sport. Deadline: 5pm on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. Please note that it may close earlier if they receive a large volume of applications.
- Accelerate – The Sustainable Events Fund – Offers British Cycling clubs grants of £250, along with additional resources such as toolkits, and shared learning opportunities. Currently closed
- Peter Harrison Foundation – Supporting opportunities that create a lasting impact for people who live in the most disadvantaged areas in the UK and those who face physical, mental, social or economic barriers. Small grants currently available in Surrey only.

- Better Community Business Network – Grants for not-for-profit groups with projects that address a community issue or support a local community initiative. Applications: 7 July to 7 September 2026
- Grassroots Grants – Groundwork, in partnership with the Postcode Lottery offers unrestricted grants of between £500-£2,000, which align with the Postcode Lottery themes including ‘Improving green spaces and increasing access to the outdoors’, ‘Improving Mental health’ and ‘Tackling inequalities’. - The Henry Smith Charity – Funds schools, youth groups, and non-profit organisations planning one-time trips for children aged 13 and under. Applications for trips between 1 October and 31 December 2026 will open between 20 August and 19 November 2026.
- National Lottery Community Funding With four themes, Communities come together Communities help children and young people thrive, Communities are healthier and Communities are environmentally sustainable
- Reaching Communities – grants of £20,001+ for up to five years. Projects that work with their community – whether that’s a community living in the same area, or people with similar interests or life experiences. Deadline: Ongoing
- Awards for All Grants of £300 to £20,000 for up to two years. Funding is intended for projects that support communities to thrive. Deadline: Ongoing
- The John Ellerman Foundation – multi-year core funding to charities working to advance wellbeing for people, society and the natural world across the UK. £180,000 over a 5-year period (Maximum of £60,000 per year). Deadline: Ongoing
- Rayne Foundation – Grants to charitable and not-for-profit organisations across the UK: Refugees and asylum seekers, Community centres People in later life and their carers, Up to: £30000. Deadline: Ongoing
- Biffa – Grants to community projects near landfill sites. Deadline: Ongoing
- Children in Need – Core and Project funding with no application deadlines, so you can apply at any time. Available grants range from £1,000 to £40,000 per year. Deadline: Ongoing
- Hedley Foundation – Grants to smaller charities operating across the spectrum of social need. Youth Support, Disabled Support, Supporting the Elderly and Terminally Ill, and Miscellaneous Support (such as those for carers, the homeless and ex-offenders). Deadline: Ongoing
- Steve Bernard Foundation – Grants with a focus on equipment and training. Deadline: Ongoing
- The YAPP Charitable Trust – Offers grants to registered charities with a total annual expenditure of less than £50,000 who are working with priority groups (Elderly people, Children and young people, People with physical impairments, learning difficulties or mental health challenges). Deadline: Ongoing

- The Hargreaves Foundation – Grants for projects with a focus on mental health, physical disability and poverty.
- King Charles III Charitable Fund – The small grants programme is dedicated to supporting UK-registered nonprofit organisations that make a meaningful difference in key areas such as social inclusion, health and wellbeing, education, environment, countryside, and heritage and conservation. - Joanie’s Fund – Funding for community projects working solely with young people aged 0 to 25. The fund has a particular interest in projects that are innovative or entrepreneurial and lead to employment, accreditation, further education or training. Autumn round of funding will be announced in September.

- CABWI – Supporting disadvantaged young people and adults to achieve their potential. 2026 Applications are now closed.
- The Asda Foundation – A selection of grants are available. 2026 Applications are now closed.
- Board Development Fund – Enables organisations operating in the sport and physical activity sector in the UK to access – free of charge – development training for their board members, which can be customised and delivered in-house (either in-person or online). Applications are now closed.
- Pink Ribbon Foundation – Open to any charity working in the field of breast cancer. 2026 Applications are now closed.
- The Body Coach Foundation – The ‘Get Kids Moving Fund’ will award grants ranging from £1,000–£10,000, to organisations working with children and young people to get them active and support their wellbeing through movement. Applications are now closed for this year.
- Wolfson Foundation – Aims to support excellence in the UK, generally through the funding of capital infrastructure in the fields of science and medicine, heritage, arts and humanities, education, and health and disability. Applications are now closed for this year.
