We created the sector of open water swimming holidays, 20 years ago and we are still the largest worldwide in this fast-growing niche; now operating in 50 locations around the globe. About the role

We are looking for a Head Coach to join our team, based in our office in Brighton, UK. You will be setting up a new department focussing on open water and pool coaching. This is a varied role that will require high levels of organisation, adaptability and self-management. You’ll be a natural motivator and an expert on the latest and most effective swim techniques. You will be coaching in an endless pool; 50 metre pool and in the open water. What you don’t know about the most effective swim technique you will be the type who is continually eager to learn and update your knowledge. The majority of your time will be based at our Endless Pool beside the beach at the new Sea Lanes site in Brighton, alongside our Head Office. You’ll be reaching a highly varied market, ranging from those unable to swim at all, and newcomers to open water swimming to dedicated open water athletes. You’ll come with enthusiasm, energy and creative ideas to help build a world class coaching arm that complements SwimTrek as the global leader in the open-water swimming world.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of coaching feasibility and quality control.
  • Implement a coaching budget and take responsibility for all expenditure and income;
  • Be responsible for the hiring, managing and mentoring, of on-site and trip coaches and any related staff required for the coaching division.
  • Manage staff schedule for all coaching sessions required.
  • Train and manage other coaches.
  • Co-ordinate and coach pool side squads in the new 50 metre pool.
  • Coach clients one : one in the endless pool, including video analysis.
