Do you have experience in relationship management at a strategic level, especially with organisations who engage with underrepresented and hard to reach groups of the community? Are you interested in working for a charity at the heart of the sport and physical activity sector? If so, Active Sussex’s Strategic Relationship Manager (CYP) role could be for you. 

Summary:

As strategic lead for our work with children and young people, you’ll have responsibility for the management of the Active Sussex Satellite Club programme, where you will be required to work with relevant stakeholders including Active Sussex staff, community sport partners, and schools and other education providers to provide clear pathways for young people to move from school sport into regular community sport opportunities. This key role will also include being accountable officer for the Sussex School Games, working alongside the Active Sussex Events Officer, and regularly liaising with the School Games Organisers Network in Sussex to ensure the development and delivery of a successful Sussex School Games programme for young people. Additionally the role will involve being responsible for the delivery of the annual Parallel Youth Games for children and young people with special educational needs. You’ll manage a small team of three officers and, as part of the Strategic Management Group, you will have an integral role in business planning and improvement planning processes authorised by the Chief Executive in particular working with our Business Development Sub-Committee.

The successful candidate will be a real team player whose can-do attitude inspires and motivates others. Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will have sound knowledge of the aims and outcomes of key national and local strategies, robust budget management, reporting and monitoring skills, and proven experience of managing people.
