National Volunteer’s Week for Sport in Sussex
Categories: Coach & Volunteering
National Volunteer's Week 1-7 June celebrates the difference volunteers make to communities. Find out about some of the volunteering opportunities for sport in Sussex.
People choose to volunteer for many different reasons, we feel volunteering in sport is one of the most rewarding ways to contribute to your local community, and gain skills for your own development.
We've curated a short list of some of the physical activity and sport related volunteering opportunities in Sussex during National Volunteer's Week.
Each parkrun only happens because of the time and dedication volunteers put in. With a number of different parkruns every Saturday at 9.00 across Sussex, volunteering at your local parkrun is a great way to put back into the community. Just find your local parkrun here and enquire directly about volunteering.
GoodGym group run
GoodGym combine running with doing good deeds and one of the opportunities during this week is the Victoria Park - Back to our roots run on 5 June at 18.15pm - a 7km run, meeting at Splashpoint Leisure Centre, starting with a gentle scenic warm up run along the beach. Visit the session information here for more details and get involved.
Still not convinced about volunteering? Then take a look at some of our volunteer stories - this page is dedicated to telling the stories of volunteers, to show you volunteers who have changed their life through sport; whether they are a coach, an official, a participant, running a club or general helper.
