New DfE guidance on doubling Primary Premium funding
Over the summer the Department of Education (DfE) confirmed that the Primary PE & Sport Premium funding will double for 2017-18. This will allow all schools to deliver further improvements to their PE & Sport provision.
Last week new guidance and grant conditions were released. This extra funding is a fantastic opportunity for schools to give pupils positive experiences in PE, Sport and physical activity that will build the foundation for a healthy, active lifestyle, leaving a lasting legacy that will live beyond the premium.
How can we help?
Our recent central and south down area Primary PE, Sport & Health conferences took place in late September and early October. These events gave participants the chance to share good practice on how they were using their PE funding and gave advice about the increased funding that’s on its way. We were pleased to see more than 50 Sussex primary schools in attendance across the two events.
If couldn't make these events, don’t worry, our Active Sussex School and Community Sports Officer Nick Chellel is on hand to help you with any information or advice you may need. You can also visit our dedicated webpages about the Primary PE & Sport Premium and get more information about continuing professional development (CPD) for teachers here.
