Active Sussex hosts first-ever networking coffee morning

Active Sussex kick-started a brand-new initiative today (Tuesday, 25 March) with its first-ever networking coffee morning – and it was a resounding success.

Bringing together 50 individuals and organisations, the event provided a fantastic opportunity to network, share ideas, and connect with fellow professionals in the sector, as well as with the Active Sussex team.

Held at The Kings Centre in Victoria Road, Burgess Hill, this free and informal gathering replaced the usual half-day networking conference held at this time of year.

However, rest assured – the annual Active Sussex Conference is still set to take place on September 23.

Ed Bartram, Regional Project and Events Officer, highlighted the importance of face-to-face engagement: “In a world where we spend so much time on virtual calls, it’s important to catch up and connect on a personal level.

“There’s so much passion and drive to do good across the network, and getting people in the room together is really energising.

“It’s a great way for Active Sussex to invest in connectivity and collaboration. For the price of a cup of coffee, we’ll see huge returns through new relationships formed, doors opened, and even fresh project ideas being sparked.”

The morning, originally planned for an hour and a half, continued for over two and a half hours – a true testament to the value of bringing people together in this way.

The event saw an impressive mix of organisations, including Sussex County Football Association, Places Leisure, Eastbourne Trampoline, Crawley Borough Council, Mencap, DanceHub CIC, The Football Fun Factory, Mid Sussex Active, Sussex Cricket, and Active Hastings—to name just a few.
