Essential how-to guides for children and young people's activity providers
Active Sussex has created four bite-sized guides to help those organising an activity for children and young people. The learnings in these guides can be used for those starting out, as well as fresh ideas for established providers.
The four guides are designed to support anyone working to get children and young people active. These resources aim to help create inclusive, engaging and successful sessions.
The guides cover four topics:
Creating the right environment
Tailoring approaches for underserved audiences
The content is enriched with expert guidance and real-life examples from organisations working with children and young people throughout Sussex. The guides aim to highlight their experiences and the obstacles they’ve faced in helping young people to feel included, supported and excited to move.
Andy Wright, Strategic Relationship Manager for Children & Young People at Active Sussex, said: “Sussex is full of incredible organisations working hard to create opportunities for children who might otherwise miss out. Through our Children and Young People Forum and Play Their Way Coaches Collective, we’ve seen just how much people want to share ideas, tackle challenges together, and support one another. These guides are here to continue that conversation.”
We’re keen to know what you think of these guides, and find out what else would help you and your organisation to get children and young people more active, so please send any thoughts to awright@activesussex.org
