The Active Sussex Network brings together member organisations and local partners that deliver sport and physical activity across Sussex including: local authorities, leisure trusts, national governing bodies of sport, health agencies, educational & community organisations.
Meeting twice a year in central Sussex locations, partners receive strategic policy briefings, attend themed workshops and have the opportunity to network.
Our next event is on 22nd February in Brighton. Please see our latest news for more information about the event. Tickets are now on sale and we recommend booking early to avoid disappointment, as places are limited.
Watch our video clip with Anthony Statham, our Strategic Relationship Manager as he introduces the speakers and the theme of the event. Please note that as of 24/01/2018, Karen Creavin has changed roles and is now CEO of The Active Wellbeing Society (TAWS).
A word from our Chief Executive, Sadie Mason OBE
With central to local government funding ever diminishing, health concerns rising and an NHS under pressure, there is no greater imperative for organisations and communities in Sussex than to seek more local and tailored responses to our health and wellbeing challenges. Inactivity continues to be a significant contributor to long term illness/disease and a hence a major cost consumer of primary care and other support services. Our Active Sussex Network event will offer delegates a different perspective on how these challenges have been addressed in other localities, along with some insights and tips into potential ways of funding programmes aimed at tackling inactivity. With some exciting keynote speakers and workshops, it is an event not to be missed.
We’re looking forward to seeing you on 22nd February!
