“It was the best day of my whole life!”
“I think it’s important because usually you can’t take part in sports if you’ve got a physical condition like me, although when you come here to the Parallel Youth Games it’s just so accessible.” – Parallel Youth Games participants
A ‘mini-Paralympics’, showcasing and celebrating disability sport in Sussex. It gives young people the opportunity to be defined not by their disability, but instead by their inspirational achievements while creating positive lasting memories.
The Sussex Parallel Youth Games is the only, multi-sport participation, event of its size for children with disabilities in Sussex.
Organised by Active Sussex, with support from partners, it provides a non-competitive, thrilling experience for young people to try out sports and learn new skills such as teamwork and leadership.
