Sport England Funding to Engage Families
Sport England has announced details of its latest round of funding: Family Fund – to support parents on low incomes and families living in areas of high deprivation to ensure fun and enjoyable activity opportunities that deliver value to the children and wider families.
There is up to £40 million over the next three years for projects which offer new opportunities for families with children aged 5-15 to do sport and physical activity together.
It is anticipated that successful applicants will encourage families to plan and take decisions to together, with children involved in shaping how the families are active together.
Applications are encouraged from sporting and non-sporting organisations who understand children and families with a proven track record in working with them.
Prior to the opening date for applications, a series of workshops are open for attendance by organisations interested in applying for the family fund. Their purpose is to offer support on applications. The dates and locations are:
- London – April 18 2017
- Loughborough – April 20 2017
- Manchester – April 27 2017
- London – April 28 2017
Following these workshops, application process will open on June 22 2017 and close on August 17 2017.
