Throughout 2017/18 Active Sussex will be offering a range of exciting opportunities for primary schools so keep an eye on this page to see what is happening in Sussex. 

Level 5 Professional Qualification in Primary PE Specialism 

  • Active Sussex are delighted to deliver another Level 5 Primary PE Specialism Qualification this year
  • This 6 day course, designed by Sports Leaders UK and AfPE, is the only nationally recognised primary PE qualification
  • The course will upskill staff to support the delivery and leadership of high quality PE and school sport.
  • The bespoke qualification is a very effective use of the Primary PE and Sport Premium because it develops sustainable excellence

Level 6 Professional Qualification in Primary PE Subject Leadership

  • Building on the successful delivery of  the Level 5 courses Active Sussex are excited to offer, for the first time in Sussex, the Level 6 Professional Qualification in Primary PE Subject Leadership 
  • The Level 6 Award is a recognised qualification to improve the overall delivery of the physical education curriculum within primary schools
  • It builds on the learning from the Level 5 course by teaching delegates how to lead sustainable development within primary school physical education
  • The 2 day course is open to teachers and teaching assistants but only those with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) can officially gain the qualification

Real PE Course

  • Create Development’s Real PE training programme comes to Sussex! 
  • The 3 day training course is split over the school year and includes personalised resources, a Scheme of Work for your year group and on going support.

Mid Sussex Active CPD Programme

  • Mid Sussex Active run a variety of training courses and workshops for teachers and school staff for MSA schools
  • The CPD programme is now open to all primary schools across Sussex

West Sussex PE Conference 

  • Want to engage with like-minded colleagues from across the South East? Need to know more about current practice in Physical Education, Sport and Active Learning? Then the West Sussex PE Conference might be one for you!
  • The annual conference is brought to you by leading practitioners who consistently deliver a high quality experience, with a variety of sessions to choose from to help you deliver further improvements to your school’s PE and sport provision

FA Primary Teachers Award
