Sussex Disability Sports Network Conference 2024

Tuesday, July 9

Following a successful conference in 2022, the Sussex Disability Sports Network is delighted to host another face-to-face event at the University of Sussex.

Supported by Active Sussex this Conference aims to bring together a range of partners and key personnel across Sussex to openly and honestly discuss supporting more disabled people to participate in sport and physical activity.

What's On

On behalf of the Sussex Disability Sports Network, we are delighted to be hosting this face-to-face conference, to provide an open learning environment through interactive workshops including insight from disabled people, lots of opportunity to network with other partners and to access advice and support from some key network members.

Workshop themes have been identified and designed based on network member input. They will provide a safe space to explore and engage in conversations, ask questions and think about what actions can be taken back into your own roles and organisations.

Across the day we will explore breaking down barriers for people with a visual or hearing impairment, and consider the priorities and pathways to provision for disabled adults accessing social care services.

Lunch is included, along with refreshments throughout the day.

The venue has wheelchair access and BSL interpreters will be available, however we want to ensure the event is accessible for all, so please let us know of any specific access and communication needs when you book.

Easy read document – providing overview of programme and how to book.

Venue: University of Sussex, Bramber House, Refectory Road, Falmer, Brighton, BN1 9QU
