Sussex Disability Sports Network
Members come together for the first Sussex Disability Sports Network Event of 2016!
The first of this year's disability sport network events organised by Active Sussex, was held on Tuesday 5 July 7pm at University of Brighton, with the aim of supporting the development and provision of inclusive sport across Sussex.
Sussex Disability Sport Network members were updated on national and local information from the steering group, and given the opportunity to influence the steering groups action planning moving forward.
Guest speakers included, Leanne Wightman from Disability Rights UK and Ed Pearson from Wheelpower, the national charity for wheelchair sport. Attendees also had the valuable opportunity to network with their peers from across the county.
The network covered the following areas:
A Sporting Future Towards an Active Nation - What do the new strategies mean for disability sport?
National, regional & steering group updates
Disability Rights UK - Get Yourself Active & personal budgets
WheelPower UK - Transforming lives through Sport
