Class Finder, the largest directory of group exercise classes in the UK, needs support from Sussex based instructors!

Before Class Finder is launched to the public in the new year we are encouraging as many Sussex based fitness instructors as possible to register for free and add their classes.

The revolutionary sports directory is owned by EMD UK  - the National Governing Body for group exercise. Over the last year supported by Sport England and working alongside Open Active, they have developed the site to improve functionality, user experience and incorporate open data.

Class Finder is ‘open data enabled,’ therefore instructors have the option to choose their classes to be shared publicly so they can be picked up and used by other open data publishers meaning their classes can be seen in more places without the administrative burden.

Currently, there are over 25 sport and physical activity organisations publishing their data openly and multiple entities using this data to power searches and drive campaigns.

Two prominent campaigns using/planning to use open data are Change For Life and Sport England’s This Girl Can. Through logging their classes in Class Finder your network of instructors will automatically be included in any campaigns that use open data.
