A self-confessed, accidental endorphin-fiend – 29-year-old Tess Agnew (aka FitBits) from Brighton perhaps wasn’t the most likely candidate to become a fitness fanatic.

A total exercise-convert, Tess now pursues her ‘quest for never-ending endorphins’ through regular running, cycling, swimming and gym sessions – using Brighton & the South Downs as her adventure playground.

Her Fitbits fitness blog (included in Greatist's Top 60 Must Read Health & Fitness Blogs of 2015) embodies the spirit of This Girl Can: from the highs of PBing at the 2015 Brighton Marathon ‘the run of my life’, to the lows of the 5am wake ups for winter training runs and struggling to swim more than two lengths - it’s clear to see the positive impact that exercise has had on her life.

Tess’s honest, realistic accounts of her training journeys are seriously inspiring. After starting triathlon training as a non-swimmer, she’s now setting her sights on sea swimming after dedicating herself to a training plan.

It's not all about strict training for the next marathon or triathlon though. Tess believes that Brighton is a great city to be active in as there's a real sense of community and always someone different to try out the latest fitness class with.

‘If I can run a marathon, get in the boxing ring, learn to swim, try climbing and kayaking even though I’m scared of heights and deep water… you can too’ Tess’s motivational words are enough to make anyone want to grab their trainers…
